Water Tribe... The Frenchman has arrived!

The Frenchman has arrived in Key Largo, YEAH! My stress level has decreases tremendously! I was overjoyed to hear his voice I wish I could send a kiss via phone! I just got off the phone with him after he ate a juicy cheeseburger filled with everything. Tomorrow is a day of rest for him. Saturday will be a day of reward! I cannot wait until Saturday! His sister is already planning hi next adventure... Oh BOY, what next?? Pin It

Water Tribe Everglades Challenge

I spoke to the Frenchman yesterday and was elated to hear from him. I did not think I would hear from him until he had arrived in Key Largo. He had arrived at checkpoint 3, in Flamingo, in what he would call was the fastest rowing time of his life. He did not want to stay in the Everglades with the gators or pythons. He said he slept in mudpit with his flashlight illuminating most of the night, I called him a scaredy cat. Felt bad once I did because I had no idea what he was going through and I had to remember he was by himself. He is going to head towards Key Largo today once he plans his way in, due to tides and currents, there are different routes to take. He will call once he lands! Can't wait to hear from him! I am so excited!!

Miss him terribly! I cannot wait to see him!! Pin It

Water Tribe 2013 ... Frenchman is on the move

Frenchman is on the move and has no contact, UGH! He is now in the Everglades, mind you the place where he feared the most, and has no cellular contact. I can only watch his movement on the spot tracker and the watertribe.com website. Sometimes I do not know if being able to watch him is helpful or hinders my stress factor. I love that I can watch and check that he is alright, but sometimes I become obsessed and I make my self do other things. I am such a worry wart!
He did tell me through our quick talk last night he is enjoying his journey and loves this trip. Pin It

Water Tribe Continues

Today was an easier day for me due to the fact I had my work! Yesterday was long and miserable because I kept staring at the screen that kept moving slowly. My husband and I spoke first thing in the morning yesterday and he said he probably was not going to move due to the weather and being afraid of tipping over, hypothermia. Then one hour later he was on the move. I was frightened, but trying to not to worry :) Later in the evening we spoke and he said it was a breeze and he was going to get a good night sleep and text me before he left! AHHH, sleep time for me!!!

On to today.... I awoke with no text, so I text him thinking he was sleeping still... Once I arrived at work I checked my phone and saw he was on the move! He was heading into the Gulf of Mexico, the place where I sometimes body surf, huge waves that crash upon the shore, YIKES!. Keep calm! I had no time to check on him during my planning time, so I kept on teaching. I still worried throughout my day, but pushed it aside. Yeah lunchtime is upon us!!! I am not excited to eat, no food I get to check on my husbands location. When I was in the teachers lounge my phone rings and I see that it is my husband, my heart drops! Worry or be excited are my thoughts! He was checking in and making sure I knew all is well! What a sweetheart <3

As I speak to people they hear he is in the watertribe and some know all about it because they have heard or have read about it in the newspaper. They are thrilled and want to know more. They begin to follow him on his spot tracker or on the water tribe site. He is now staying just outside the Everglades because he needs a permit to stay in side the Everglades. He has plans to receive that permit tomorrow and the head on down the coast. We continue this journey tomorrow! Pin It

Water Tribe....In The Beginning EC2013

Left for his Everglades Challenge 2013 yesterday check out the youtube video!

I will update my blog, so you can see what I am going through and check out how he is doing. He made a Chesapeake Light Craft 17 LT and it is beautiful.

I only saw about 6 wooden boats at the start and I was surprised! I truly thought I would see so many more. His boat is holding up wonderfully! We spoke yesterday after he was sailing in Sarasota Bay he endured 6-7 ft swells. He said he just rode them out and it was very scary! Now let me tell you, if this scared him, it FREAKS me out!!! Not too many things scare him!

So last night when I saw him at checkpoint 1, I hugged him tighter and said a prayer. He stayed a short time at checkpoint 1 to make sure his new found friends, YukonJohn and GreySmile were ok. Off he went headed towards DonPedro or the island just west of Dog Island.

He called me this morning and told me he is frozen and I wished I could be a giver, like in The Hunger Games when the wishes are granted to those in need. He is need of warmth!

Well, I have just been informed he is on the move! I will report later on his movements, now I must go be the nervous WIFE... Pin It

I am getting ready for my final observation which is next week! I cannot wait for it to be over and I will be teaching time and clocks. The stress of this is killing me, ahh! I have stayed late and gone in early each day this week to help me prepare!

The students and I have had so much fun learning about adjectives this week! We have used Hope King's idea where she had another teacher come in dresses over the top pretending to be their twin, the students had to use adjectives to describe her. Yesterday, my friend came in and my kids had so much friend interviewing her. Today they wrote their rough draft thank you. Their letters have so many adjectives!! I cannot wait for our own adjective runway show! Please keep an eye out for pictures to follow! Pin It
